Many people have wrinkles or badly scarred facial skin that effect both their looks as well as their confidence.

Dermabrasion removes the top layers of skin to help reduce surface irregularities. When the top layer of skin grows back the imperfections are removed.

Dermabrasion is most often used to improve the look of facial skin left scarred by accidents or acne, or to smooth out fine facial wrinkles such as those around the mouth.

Time off work is essential after treatment. Healing occurs within two weeks but the skin may remain pink, sensitive and swollen for several weeks after the treatment. Excessive sun exposure should be avoided for 6 – 12 months as sun exposure will damage the healing skin. It is natural that every patient will experience their own peculiarities during the healing process. Proper aftercare can reduce most of the conditions.

Dermabrasion can enhance your appearance and your self confidence but will not remove all scars and flaws or prevent aging.

Dermabrasion can be used alone or performed in conjunction with other procedures such as a face lift.
